| Caloundra Regional Art Gallery |
Did you know... Did you know that the Gallery was designed by Lindy Atken and Stephen Guthrie of award winning Bark Design? Their design is an additive and adaptive re-use of a modest 1970s building which was formerly the council library. Sitting within the twisted forms of several Melaleuca trees, the building focuses all attention to the curving free-form, steel and timber, glazed foyer. This space has been inspired by Alvar Aalto’s 1937 ‘Savoy’ vase; an organic scalloped glass form that is embedded in the psyche of many architects.
