Diggers Cottage Art Illusion Museum

Did you know...
Did you know this 19th century Workers Cottage was originally owned by two of the very first directors of the famous Walkers Foundry company?
Walkers foundry built Gympie mining equipment, ships, sugar mills and trains. The Cottage garden walls are built from recycled foundry products. Some of the rare bricks in the wall date back to 1870. The garden also features numerous artistic sculptures made from recycled Walkers foundry materials.

Did you know...
Did you know that the interior Cottage collection features the worldly goods and chattels of World War I digger, Jim Knight? Jim lived there for over 62 years.

World War I Collection

From the Museum's World War I collection is a rare antique ceramic fruit bowl designed by English Artist, Bruce Bairnsfather. This piece dates from the World War I era and features intriguing war scenes. It has been incredibly well preserved.
