Did you know... Did you know that the Redland Museum holds an extensive photographic archive relating to the early German settlement of the Mount Cotton district?

| The Improved Halladay Standard Pumping Windmill c1890 | |
The windmill was used for pumping water on a Redlands farm until 1970. Painstaking restoration by museum volunteers began in 2003 and the project won a National Trust Silver Award in 2006.

Did you know... Did you know that the Redland Museum has an interesting collection of clocks among which is the Clauson clock made in Brisbane by Nils Clauson in 1897. The clock was used temporarily in Brisbane’s old observatory as the official timepiece?

The Gem Printing Press represents the history of newspapers and printing in the Redlands. The first newspaper in the district was published in the early 1920s. The ‘Gem’ is in working order and used in the museum to this day.

Did you know... Did you know that the Redland Museum has a working Blacksmith Shop housed in a shingle roofed slab hut which originally came from Mount Cotton and which is regularly manned by working blacksmiths?

The Redland Museum holds an extensive archive of memorabilia from the renowned Strawberry Festival held from 1958 until recent years when it has been incorporated into the Redlands Spring Festival.
