COVID-19 response

Last updated: 25 March 2020

In response to the current COVID-19 pandemic M&G QLD and M&G NSW are encouraging all volunteer-run museums and galleries to close to the public and for all volunteer support programs run by professionally-staffed organisations to be temporarily suspended. These recommendations recognise that volunteer groups are largely comprised of an older demographic, and refer to the risk to which older people are exposed to if they contract COVID-19.

Temporary closure is a precautionary measure to assist public health services, ensure individual risk is minimised and to support communities across our States during this difficult time.

We encourage all regional/public galleries and museums to adhere to the advice of your local, state and national government, stakeholders and health experts with regard to your operations.
